We need two experienced professional engineers with the drive to manage projects, develop and maintain client relationships, and shape PDG as we move toward employee ownership. Duties & Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibility will be to perform and oversee professional engineering team members to create and deliver quality engineering deliverables meeting or exceeding the expectations of our clients.

  • You will be accountable for client relationships and satisfaction while working on a range of projects for public works and private development clients.
  • As a senior licensed professional, you will be responsible for guiding, supporting, and managing team members to assure client desires, project budgets and service delivery schedules are met.
  • Your role as a senior member of the PDG team will include direct involvement in decision-making regarding clients and projects sought and accepted by PDG, including development of proposals, scheduling, pricing and marketing activities.
  • You will be responsible for plan checks; code adherence, standards, and quality reviews of designs; and recommending enhanced solutions; signing final documents; and approving and/or signing plans and maps for Public Works improvement projects, in consultation with or as a contracted City Engineer.
  • Based on project needs, you will make presentations and represent clients in public meetings and before governing bodies to support project goals, provide technical information, and answer questions regarding your projects.
  • As appropriate, you will assure that your team conducts field visits to assure project success and prepare estimates, feasibility reports, engineering studies and reports.  When working on public projects, you may manage field inspections of construction or repair work, and perform project management tasks including prepare project budgets, change orders, payment recommendations, staff reports to ensure project activities meet contract specifications.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must possess an active Oregon Professional Engineering license, with experience in civil engineering and a passion to continually learn and increase your engineering knowledge and to own customer issues through resolution.
  • A minimum of six years of responsible civil engineering design and/or project management experience on a variety of private development and/or public works projects.
  • Ability and desire to manage the design, complete reviews, and assure the quality of project design models and deliverables generated by utilizing Autocad Civil 3D.
  • Previous direct client management responsibility, team management, and firm marketing experience are desirable.
